Vista MCE: TV/DVD playback greyish, not black
Do I have to use an application such as FFDShow to mixture with VMR/overlay to get MCE display a correct dark black? Where is a good guide for that? I've tried to use the nVidia decoder but the result is the same. TIA /Ted AMD Sempron 2800+, nVidia 6150, 1GB DDR, Vista RC2 5744.

On my media centre I've played 1080p without any problems using 6150 on-board video at 1360x768 (the example downloads from Microsoft website). From what I've read if you want to go to H.264 then you need something more substantial. NVidia recommend a minimum 500MHz GeForce 7 core for HD and Blu Ray. -- Nigel Wade.

That haze usually indicates an issue with your display card drivers (as you've noticed, it's card dependent). Forceware drivers are up to 84.26 (WHQL certified) so I'd try those first in case NVidia have made some modifications. I tried tons of ForceWare versions, upgrading to 84.26 will not fix the problem.
